Guys, please don't get offended. I love diving with y'all (and I have met the greatest male divers because of this board), but sometimes I'd like to dive with another woman. Is there no one out there whose SO isn't a diver and feels the same way I do?

We have some female members that dive Monterey all the time.

BTW, I live out in Woodland. There's some very experienced people in this Monterey-based club and I've learned a great deal from them - even though they're three hours away. They have an organized club dive once a month and it's a great way to learn about diving the central coast.

Hi. I'm a new diver (about 35 dives) and this has quickly become my passion. I have dove mostly in tropical locations but I know that I have to dive norcal, as this is where I'm from, and I don't want to have to wait to go on vacations. I haven't dove in the ocean here(only a botched open water checkout which I had to complete in Folsom Lake!) I really hope to meet people so that my husband and I can make it a regular thing to dive Monterey.

luvspoodles, CA diving is so different from tropical diving. I suspect you probably won't like it at first (more neoprene and lead, the cold, less vis and color, etc.) but stick with it. Monterey has some really awesome diving, and it's great not having to wait till vacation! Lake Folsom can be a fun dive, too.

nkw5,
I'm definitely going to try it with an open mind. I really really want to love it because I have discovered that I have a big passion for diving, and I don't want to have to wait once a year to do tropical dives. Now, the hard part may be convincing my husband that CA diving is good. He is not looking forward to it.

Hey Naomi,

You missed a great dive on Saturday. There were a few of us and the diving was a lot of fun. In my opinion Lake Spalding is more fun than Stumpy and the water is a bit warmer to. Hope you can make it next time.

I'm a female diver with almost very little diving experience. And none of my close friends are willing to try it out. But i love the ocean. so i'm trying to find buddies all the time. the hard thing is that i don't want to bore the other diver with my very basic, novice-like dives.

Hi - I'm also very new to diving and would like to meet buddies to grow my skills with. I'm in Sacramento.
