I'm an instrument rated PPSEL and PADI Instructor and I find sometimes while teaching scuba I have flashbacks to my CFI. "Are you going to flare this time..ugghh Guess not. :)

Hey, we do it this way. When the co-pilot's eyes get wide, and he goes: "Aaaah!" We flare! Works every time! :eyebrow:

Or some of the Navy trap jocks that say, “we don’t need no stinken flare.” :D

I’ve been lucky so far in life that I’ve only had one pilot dive buddy that wasn’t great to dive with. I gave up diving and flying with him before he feathered the good engine on an Aero Commander and stuck it in.

Student pilot here, only a few more flights away from my PP-SEL.

Hey, if anyone is interested in a (near) crossover...

I know a glider pilot who built his own glider in the 1950s. He was flying it by the coast on Torrey Pines here in California (runway on a cliff overlooking the ocean) and didn't make it back to the runway. He landed in the surf zone, and was frantic trying to pull the glider away from the waves as they were trying to pull it out to the ocean.

The waves won. He said that people were calling him for weeks afterward telling him that another piece of his glider had washed up...

Does this whole thread mean that as soon as I make divemaster I am also going to have to go to flight school?
Any instructors volunteering?
