The guy who runs my LDS just started using a Mikron, he's diving it all week. It isn't environmentally sealed if that's important to you (not sure about using it in Canadian waters), but it is LIGHT! One thing worth mentioning is that, because the second stage is so small, you might have more bubble interference with your mask than normal. They probably could've gotten away with a wider exhaust tee without adding much bulk or weight...

At first the pictures looked like the ports were mounted radially around the barrel of the first stage (like on the Titan, Calypso, Conshelf), but after looking at one IRL I can tell you that's not really the case. Pretty nice hose routing, actually, especially considering how tiny the first stage is.

I could be tempted to buy one for warm water diving.

Thanks. Can yo ask the guy who runs your LDS what he thought of it? Environmentally sealed isn't NB - I dive in warm, clear water in Cozumel. I am a photographer, so bubble interference is a concern. If this doesn't work, I'm thinking maybe a Mares Proton 42 or an XS Scuba Tri-metal titanium...

I have the Mikron and I really like it. I don't get the 'hose push' that I get from my other regulators. It's light for traveling and a nice compact size (especially for women).

I may buy one tomorrow for a trip in 2 weeks.. Have only rented up to this point, so I'm figuring (hoping) that whatever I end up with will be better than the rentals! I like how small it is, but never really thought of what that means for the bubbles...

I have one, it's never been wet. I stole the intermediate hose for another project so you'd need to replace that (or I could do that for you). Make an offer. Money back if you're not happy.

Why haven't you used it? What are you using instead? No idea what to offer you...

If you need a reg set now, then you obviously need it now, but...

Aqulalung is coming out with new models of the Titan LX. I don't know if its too soon for your shop to have these in stock, but if it were me I'd want to get a look at these before buying the Mikron esp. since the new LXs look to be environmentally sealed and use standard Aqualung parts.
