@schuylerclark I mean, all of this really comes down to what the aquasense actually
does. Unless I missed an announcement, once you strip away the buzzwords, corporate BS and vague allusions to cutting edge tech and features like AI, we're left with...not a whole lot of info.
If this device, for example had a combination of gas analyzers to detect CO2, CO, O2 fraction, helium, and perhaps moisture in the gas mix, that would be a feature I think many would consider worth a large part of the $1400 price tag. You could get real time confirmation that sketchy boat compressor didn't fill your tank with poison (or worse, rust inducing water). That would be excellent.
OTOH, if all it adds is an LED indicator and integrating your existing sensors into your regset, that's really not worth the price tag. So it all depends, what does this do? I know there's been allusions to helping with trim, not entirely sure if that's something AL claimed it does or something people are suggesting it might do, but either way, I don't see that being a huge factor to most divers, but my sample may be skewed. Other than the people on here, most divers I know (myself included) are young, relatively poor, and thus not spending $1400 on a regset even if it let them grow gills lol. The one rich guy I know that dives is a vacation only diver that rents gear. So I'm not really one to speak to the market for this I suppose.
I still say AL's best bet would be to pack the thing with gas sensors and such and market it to the tech crowd, but then, I'm not a tech diver, so I may well be talking out my fins.
