Hi Pidgiepoo,

By way of an update, alas, my wife was unable to complete her OW. Comfortable and complete mask clearance proved too elusive for her, and she has decided to back off, at least for now. She has still come a long way; she was basically a non-swimmer until she decided to see what had my daughter and I so hooked on diving. She's learned to swim, and is now very comfortable in deep water for the first time in her life. I'm sure not gonna push things, and she can always try again if and when she wants to.

In the meantime, our travel plans remain unchanged, and so the dates are perfect, just with 3 divers total - no newbie (nice graphic!).

I'm not changing the NEWBIE graphic yet...I'm rooting for your wife in hopes that she finds the confidence/courage to overcome her fear of clearing masks. It took me a few tries because I got water up my nose and I had to figure out how to avoid that without panicking, so I completely understand what she's feeling. She should be proud of her swimming accomplishments and realize she is just one step from joining all of us divers in the beautiful world under the sea. You go girl..I know you can do it..maybe while you are in Cozumel this April ???
