Any body know anything about this product?

for those of you who were at the meet and greet know that I have lost some weight and now my neck seal on my drysuit is to big. with a little duct tape to tighten the neck seal up it works fine. So After looking at some Drysuit repair places it would be 75 dollars plus shipping both ways to get a new neck seal. Or 35 dollars plus shipping only one way for the bio-seal. If any one knows any thing about this product let me know the pros and cons. I was thinking this might be all I need instead of sending my suit in and getting a new neck seal.

$35 buys a lot of duct tape, besides haven't you heard Jenny is going to start diving. Now you have a technician to apply your tape, and don't worry if needed I will wrap your neck with duct tape so your suit doesn't leak.

Mitten,
shh....she doesnt want to admit that yet :)
my understanding is that bio seals are basically neoprene. might try butchering an old wetsuit if you have one.

Now you speak up. I just sent the order button last night on one of these. I sure hope that I didnt waste my money. I guess we will find out. This thread has been up for over two weeks where were you then before I ordered it. Well stay tuned here and I post all results I have with it when it comes in.

sorry :(
ever since they changed up the layout i rarely look directly in the forum.
fwiw, the people who i've seen that use them like them.

Well this weekend I got a chance to try out my new Appollo Bio seal. The material this thing is made of is kind of hard to explain it is a cross between the artificial worms fisherman use and Gummy bear texture. it does seem to have a sticky like feeling to it also but it doesnt leave any glue or sticky residue on your hands or dry suit.

First dive with the appollo I was completley dry not a drop of water it was a wonderful feeling. I thought I had the baggy neck seal problem solved.

Second dive Leaked like a son of a gun. I'm thinking I might not have had the seal on properly might of had a fold or two in it.

third dive having buddy check out the seal all the way around and then making suit neck seal was properly seated The seal seemed to work fine the first half of the dive then it started leaking later on But I think my hood might have something to do with it.

So I think it will work but Much care needs to be done on putting it on more testing needs to be done before final results are in. Im going to try some things different on the next use and will post results.

I will say though that if any body just has a slight leak like when they look up or twist a certain way this product will definatly do the trick for that.

Ted,

Go to http://www.drysuitsplus.com/ and give this guy a call.
You can get your new neck seal installed in about 5 days and be good to go.

He does great quality work. He did all of my seals and installed the boots on my ancient SSI drysuit.
