I think it's a great invention. I still remember when I experienced dry-mouth when using regulator, my 1st thought was, "What's wrong with the air?"

Obviously, a lot of people are not using it and still dive under water for long long hrs; but I think decent humidity helps air exchange in the lung (O2 dissolve into capillaries etc).
On the other hand, I've heard others saying that the moisture would hurt the 2nd stage in time....

My reg seems to not have this issue.

I don't know if it's my expired air that condenses, but I find that the air is plenty moist enough, and my mouth doesn't dry up... and it's not salt water left in my mouth, so I know it's not a leaky reg.
