What's the difference between a high profile valve and a low profile valve (Apex) , I hear the low profile leaks !
The suit I have ordered comes with Apex inlet valve-centre and Apex auto dump valve -- left shoulder , should I be concerned?
Thanks for any replies

If the suit you ordered is new and not used it will come with the low profile design.

The leakage you hear about is actually the by product of the improved design. The low profile is much more snag resistant than the high profile design. This means when donning and ditching your gear you won't get hung up on the valve.

As to the leakage.
The new design when opened fully ( completely counter clock wise) will allow a very slow dribble. This is to allow air to escape on very slow ascents and makes it easier to maintain buoyancy.

All you need to do is remember to turn it clockwise one or two clicks and the leak is gone. Operation will not be affected and as long as you ascend slowly it will still vent correctly.

They are good valves and you won't have any complaints. Don't leave it all the way open and you will stay dry.

I ordered the older Scitek valve, and DUI had some....

We'll see how that goes when the suit arrives later this month.
