Apeks XTX20 Warm Water Reg

I am planing to buy an apeks xtx20 reg. My question is, this reg is a warm water reg and how cold the water can be that this reg can work without any problems?

Suggested temp is 50 degrees and above.

What if I dive with it in temp below 50 F degress? It will not operate?

It could freeze, causing a free flow.
Look at the XTX 40. There is not much of a price difference, and you get the benefit of cold water performance. (cold water regs can be used in warm water).
