Apeks with Delrin hand wheel - DIR?

That's actaully a very good point, Tobin. I ride sportbikes a lot and some of the best sliders to prevent frame damage in case of a crash are made of Delrin. It stands up really well to crashes of up to 80+. May be, indeed, they are not Delrin at all.

Jagfish, that's exactly what I thought if they are large surely they should be easier to operate in cold weather. Well, I guess since we are all uncertain as to whether the actual staff is indeed Delrin I'd better buy metal ones.
 
I don't have any of the plastic ones, but I have friends that do, and they have broken them in under a season's use. The plastic ones may be easier on their hands, but I like durable regs.
 
It sounds like Apeks used some junk plastic there - way too many problems with a lousy simple handwheel. I have a bunch of Abyss 1st stages with Delrin or something handwheels, and so far they've all been bulletproof.
