I just ordered my Apeks TX40 + TX40 Octo setup from DiveINN. Am I gonna wish I went with a TX50 instead? Besides the adjustable inhale resistance whats the difference?

You will not be unhappy with your TX40, I don't know what kind of diving you do but Ican tell you that I have mae several dives between 90-120 feet using the TX-40 and it works great!

I was going to order those aswell for use on my deco bottles. DS4/TX40. I read alot of posts that recommend these. I will be getting mine from DiveINN aswell.

heres a good reason to get them from DiveINN, my LDS prices below:

DS4/TX40 $405 US

DS4/ATX50 $500 US

DS4/TX50 $500 US

Dont think i will get mine there!

I went with DiveINNs DS4/TX40 $190 i think

I believe the only difference is that the tx50 has an adjustment for ease of breathing. I have used that adjustment 2-3 times in 40 dives with my tx-50. Below about 90 ft I find it makes breathing easier. I know its a boring dive when I'm looking to make an adjustment for ease of breathing.

If you order from DiveInn -- won't you have trouble getting your LDS to service your equipment? Afterall, why should they have any loyalty towords you??

 bv

No, you can get service. You just might have to pay for it instead of getting it free. Thats all. And with the savings off of Diveinn.com you got 5 years of servicing before you've spent the amount it would have cost to buy in an LDS. By then you should probably be buying the next generation regulators anyway. :)

Its my $, i think i can spend it where i like. I dont mind paying my LDS to service this equipment, far as i am concerned its win win for them. they will be servicing whatever i buy anyway.

Just for the record i spent $6000 US at this shop, and i was ripped off by them before. You ask me about loyalty, how about there loyalty to me! I still spend more than the normal OW diver at this shop, and i expect to be treated better than i was.

I still like the shop, i just shop around more now. They will beat any other LDS prices for me if i dont feel like waiting for a mail order. I just dont spend all my $ there anymore. I for one am not paying 120% over what I could pay by getting it from DiveINN. My last name is not Gates.

i guess i should say i dont hate the LDS or the people there, infact i like them. We just didnt see eye to eye on pricing certain items.

I already covered the service issue before ordering from DiveINN. Called around to the shops in my area and made sure they are authorized to and would service Apeks regs. Plus my instructor said he would do it for me as well.. but if worse came to worse you can always just send it back to DiveINN (they have a location in florida) and they can service it for ya..

Quick question here, Are the ATX line servicable here in the US? I thought I read on the board here somewhere about trouble with servicing the ATX?

Anyone have one and are they serviceable here?

thanks,

I called my LDS and they told me that they would have no problem servicing the Apeks regs. The service guy told me that he was always certified to service the US version of the Apeks regs (Sherwood?) but that company lost its account with Apeks so he had to get re-certified by Apeks themselves even though the regs are identical. He has done this and said he would service my Apeks for me.
