I find when I move to new equipment styles, hesitations are bound to occur.

My camping/kayaking background has taught me redundancy in safety matters. I was trying to discern if I was losing anything by not having a cumberbund - as I was trained with and used to.

I can understand that. I'm not going to tell you that I didn't hesitate before I took the scissors to my cummerbund.
