My wife and I have been using the TX100/50 combo for over a year with EAN-32/36, no problem. Practically any reg can be used as long as you don't exceed 40%.

"As they leave the factory standard Apeks regulators are suitable for use with oxygen enriched gases ( i.e. Nitrox etc.) providing the oxygen content does NOT EXCEED 40%."

The website is the latest information and most correct.

I see all the comments about shoulds and should nots, but I am curious to know if those of you who dive Nitrox with a reg that hasn't been "cleaned" switch back and forth between Nitrox and normal gas without the cleaning?

Also, why would the regulator companies recommend the cleaning before using the reg with a higher concentration of oxygen? What makes it dangerous to use in this case? Does anyone know what is different about some regs that allow them to be used with Nitrox and why others are not made for this?

I've taken chemistry like everyone else, but I guess I must be missing something. :D

All the time...

I use mine with 50% almost every weekend having done nothing to the reg in two years. I know people who use theirs with 100% right of the box, and they still have their eye brows. It's a non issue that lawyers have dreampt up to make money.

as oxyhacker stated this is correct as of all apeks regulators being shipped since mid 2001
When Apeks went over to EPDM O-ring last year I was told by the factory that the new regs had, in addition to the new O-rings, O2-compatible grease, and were usable out of the box with 100%
