I am heading down to St. George Island in early May and will be taking a boat along with me (not a big boat, so I wont be going real far out). Any suggestions on dive sites to check out?

How big of a boat? Pick your day right and the Empire Mica would be a great dive if you're comfortable in the 100-130' range.

What he said! Its a 20 mile run from Indian Pass so from St. George its alittle further. If you are in a smaller boat the One More Time is about 3 miles from the Pass Between St. George and Dog Island in less than 40'. Small wreck but large goliaths are normal!!! Vis can be really iffy that close in though.

My boat is a 16x48 semi v. It's really my duck boat so I don't really feel comfortable going 20 miles out. 3 miles isn't bad though. Is there anywhere I can get gps coords or a good dive map for those sites?

Thanks for the info captain

There appears to be some barges and bridge rubble that would be within my range. Do you think they are even worth the trouble? Thanks for the Artificial reefs link by the way.

Ill tell ya that I grew up in Tallahassee and there's not much out there. However, the "One More Time" is about 3 miles off Dog Island and is a great dive! I have dove that spot twice and both times have been great. It is an old shrimp boat that is still well intact. There is a huge Goliath that calls it his home so be aware. He is HUUUUGE! It is in about 30 ft of water and has plenty of fish on it. Also saw a 10 ft. Tiger there.

Anything that says the position was fixed via LORAN I'd be pretty wary of. The conversion from TDs to Lat/Lon is way off when ASFs are not programed in, and they never are on those AR sites. You think I could put too many more acronyms in there? TTFN
