Where is it? How well posted is the land? most of the time You have to get told verbally to leave to get arrested for tresspassing:) Any snakes around? i hate snakes but i have a HK 45 that can be fired underwater... I would need more time getting used to my drysuit before i went but i may be up for it later in the season.

Yup, it's on posted land, although you still might get away with a verbal warning. A guy just responded to my thread in the general diss. saying that I should expect zero vis/black water conditions. But, I still might sneak back w/ a tank and check it out again, in which case I'll post back hear.

To be honest, I'm pretty used to free diving in real low vis conditions, but, when I jumped into this pond, I was a little spooked. It was very strange in that there was little or no particulate matter in the water - for example there was no scatter from my light (like you see if traditional low vis situations) instead it was like my light wasn't even on, the beam just disappeared. The water really was black. Very odd. And like I said, there is not edge to the pond, once you get through the bog like material surronding the pond, it drops straight off.
