Anyone use mares Abyss regs as deco regs

I am begining my path toward tech diving. I bought apeks regs for back gas, but I have a 05 style abyss reg already on a stage bottle. Anyone use them(abyss) for deco gas? If it works well, i also have a rare abyss octo, i can also use, if i can find another mr22 first stage for a second bottle.

OK, let me spin this another way.... I am begining the road toward decompression diving, advanced nitorx, etc. I've chosen an instructor, and spent the last year upgrading my gear, bp/w, new back gas regs (apeks ds4-tx50) 40 cuft stage, etc. But as you know the gear and training is VERY expensive. I eventually want 4 ds4/tx50's for back gas and deco, but currently have a mares abyss 1st/second and a abyss octo. will these be ok for deco bottle until i get around to upgrading to all ds4's. What do you use?
