I'd like to make it, but a friend is getting married (in Vegas no less).

Sounds like fun.

I'd love to get together with you guys; but.... May 5 is Scuba Steve's season opener at Tyler State Park so I'm kind of obligated to dive with them on that day. Doesn't mean I can't dive there first and then go to CSSP...I've been known to do a little local lake hopping in the past. :)

Dave, I'll be there! My wife does her OW on the 12th & 13th. I'll be there that weekend too if you wanna dive with me while she does her thing. You could help me tweak my boyancy.

Probably will not be able to make this.

Well, as it turns out, our daughter is NOT certifying that particular weekend, but we are still planning to be there from Friday night thru Sunday afternoon. Soooo, plan to dive and party, folks! We're in our mean, green Prowler rv. We'll pitch in for food & snacks. It's time for Des to come out of hibernation, btw... bet he shows up- someone call him and tell him there'll be food!

Illini_Fan:
Newbie question on how CSSP works for overnights. I assume the $20 admission is per day -- so a weekend would be $40 regardless of whether you stay overnight. Or will they actually let you get away with one admission ($20) plus the $5 overnight fee?

When my husband and I go and camp, it is $20 each per day for admission (4 x $20), $30 for electric hookup (2 x $15), plus airfills. Minimum it will cost us to camp/dive for a weekend is $110, with no airfill costs.

My husband didn't figure in the costs when he encouraged me to try diving...

Everything's doubled now!

What happened foo? Why isn't she getting certified that weekend?

If I got the story right, Scubatoys has decided not to do any classes while they're trying to pull off the big festivities they have planned for that weekend. Probably for the best, task overloading is not always the smartest plan. She thinks it will now be the weekend of May 19, 20.

She did do her pool work this weekend, and things went really well. She was a bit nervous, because her first experience with scuba was a resort course in Coz- the downside was the op did not use a pool for skills, they were in salt water instead. It was tough for her to clear her mask and do her first breathing skills in the salt water, so the pool water was a breeze by comparison.
