I currently dive doubles with a Zeagle DSV on the right post as my primary, and an old genesis on the left post. I had been saving up to get another DSV for my doubles before tech training, but while I was at the LDS this morning, they told me about a trade in program for Oceanic, where I can trade in any reg, good bad or ugly for a discount on a new Oceanic. This puts the Delta 4 more affordable than the Zeagle now. So anyone have any experience with the Delta 4 in deep tech environments?

Thanks,
Jim

Jim,

I use an modified Oceanic Delta 4 second stage without the factory swivel hose as my alternate second stage....it now has a 22" lp hose.

I use a modified Oceanic FDX-10 first stage with the DVT replaced by a DIN fitting as my primary first stage.

I have had no issues on deep dives or any dives for that matter (warm-cold-dirty-night-day..lol)....I have had the units in service several years.

;)

I use dual delta 4's on my doubles, in caves as well as open water. Have been down to 140' at 39 degrees. never had so much as a hiccup.

I had some trouble with Oceanic not getting my parts order right when I converted them to din and got the long hose that goes with the system. They made it right in the end. Great regs!

The Delta-4 in a excellent regulator for any purpose.

Oceanic make's good regs I still dive an older delta-2 and it is one of the best regs I've ever dove. Even after all these yrs..

Good to hear guys. Anyone have any comparisons between a Delta 4 and a Zeagle DSV? I had intended all along to get 2 Zeagles, since I do like my DSV, but with the trade in program I can get the Oceanic for less than a Zeagle, so I'm probably going to give it a shot. I know a lot of people get pretty uptight about not having matching backgas regs, but I figure that's the best way to truly compare them.

Not a real issue if you are using quality regs.,,,,I saw let 'them' get uptight...;)

That's pretty much been my feelings on the issue. I know I definetly need to get something better than the old Genesis off there tho. I have tried it compared to the Zeagle on a deep dive and I DON'T want to have to switch to it in an emergency.

I also use many Delta 2's and 3's and they are superb.
Oceanic is a quality product & I have to believe the Delta 4 is a good reg.

I have had my Delta 4/FDX-10 to a chilly 200ffw and it preformed fine.
