I'm relatively new to Cali, and I'm looking to make some friends/buddies nearby. Beers, rock music, video games, bumming around. Soon as I get my checkout dives in next month, I'll be able to do something more constructive with my time. =)

I've moved here from Michigan (shout out to the GLWC!)

I've traded in my parka for a wetsuit, and my snow shovel for a snorkel. Definitely a step in the right direction.

You also might want to check out the Bay Area Dive Show in San Jose next weekend. Some of the local dive shops have half-price coupons ($5 instead of $10).

Aye, I have a half-price voucher for the show... unfortunately pulling overtime that weekend in Santa Rosa ... still going to try for Sunday.

The show is only Friday night 5-8 and Saturday 9-5. It's not open Sunday.

I also got email from DAN saying members get half off at the door with their DAN card.

I'm hoping for a good turnout so this first annual show doesn't become the last annual show. It's got to be tough starting a new expo in this economic climate -- especially for an expensive sport like scuba.
