Anyone knows why these sites aren't dived so often?

Saw this map from Divers Down in Swanage:
Wreck Sites

There are many sites which do not seem to be dived on individual dive spots like:
  • Venezuela
  • Borgny
  • Witty Zee

Are they worth visiting or are they not dived because they aren't very good?

Wanted to ask on The UK Scuba Diving Community Forums but their website does not allow me to login or reset my password anymore ...

Hi

I can't answer your question on the wrecks, but regarding the UK scuba diving forums, I also have issues with them being very slow and some pages generating errors.

Maybe drop an email to the 2 boat companies that use Swanage Pier to see what they say about the wreck popularity.

Nick.

I expect if you could fill a boat the dive op would take you out. There's something fascinating about these seldom visited wrecks.

Depth, slack water, distance all play a part I expect.

It's been a challenging couple of seasons and one would guess that the boats are only going to places which are popular, close and non-exclusive. Frequently the best way to see a specific wreck is to ask them to schedule it, maybe for next season.

Some sites are more difficult due to tidal conditions; e.g. has to be done on a specific tide or is a difficult steam out into the tide making it more weather dependent.

Have you seen https://www.wrecksite.eu/ ? A small subscription will give access to their charts showing all the wrecks.
