Using snailfish as a starting point, I did some searching and it appears it is a variety of lumpfish

That has got to be the ugliest fish ever. Reminds me of the Creature from the Black Lagoon. Maybe it's the Creatures initial phase.

All I know is that it was caught by a fisherman in the Pacific Northwest. Exactly where I do not know.
