The replacement battery didn't bring it back to life either. I only had the one spare battery. Is it worth buying another battery to see if that works?

They have a strange approach to customer service. For the amount of time they had the computer, I would expect it to show up ready to dive.

Given that it took do long to send it and get it back last time I'd be inclined to try another battery first.

The LDS tried a battery out of a Sol off the shelf that was working. No joy.

Here's the unsurprising thing: No comment whatsoever from Scubapro. By now most other vendors would have jumped in to help out. This is why I no longer buy their gear. Service is awful.

I had the same thing. Called Scubapro support.

1. This error is related to reset that is related to battery
2. Pulled the battery, put it back in, problem appears to be solved.

I asked if there are any reasons why this has happened. No specific information other than "just monitor this for the next few dives"

The computer had 44 dives (failure on 44th) @ about 50 minutes per dive.
The battery showed "high" on charge

I was diving my Galileo tonight in about 5 meters of seawater. The dive started normally and the computer checked out before we entered. It was synched with the transmitter and displayed the correct pressure. I have water contacts turned off. Before descending I turned on the computer and it functioned normally. The first 15 minutes of the dive was shallow (2 to 3 meters).

About 30 minutes into the dive I tried to turn on the light nothing happened. I put my dive light on it and it had exited back to the start up screen. All depth and time functions were gone. After we returned to shore it displayed "Service Mode Error 32". I rinsed it off in fresh water and tried to turn it on and got the same error message. Does anyone know what that means? And, can I clear that myself or do I need to send it back to Uwatec?

The computer has about 30 dives on it and the battery was reading full at the start of the dive. There were no symptoms prior to the failure.

The only appropriate response: verbal :nuke:

Maybe BeaverDivers will jump in and tell us all about how great the Sol is?

I've never had a problem with my Galileo other than a brief loss of signal at 120 dives. I have had issues with the Scubapro/UWATEC customer support and turnaround time like many others. Sent a Smart Z in for a replacement battery, battery drained after 4 dives. Each time it took 1-2 months, what really irritates me is that you have to send it in through a Scubapro center, you can't just mail it to them. Sold the Z after I got it back the 2nd time. Still though, the UWATEC computers have given me less hassle than my old SUUNTOs.

I agree that a single failure of a device does not say much. So as a result someone is recommending a Sherwater product which is not even air integrated. Are you sure not a single Sherwater computer has ever had a failure?

My Shearwater died once. (Failed depth sensor) The company replied to my Email on a Sunday afternoon. Less than a week later I had a repaired computer in my hands. Total out of pocket cost (including shipping) $0.00

And not having air integration is a bonus! :D
