Anyone know the pressure/capacity info for the Faber 88 (3000)?

Hi,

I figure this is the place for this question. My math is terrible, so maybe one of you guys out there can help me. I have a Faber 88 (the one with the 3000 psi rating) and I figured that, as I was told, the tank holds 88 cubic feet of gas at 3000 psi. If I am wrong, someone let me know. But what I would love to know is what the capacity would be if the tank was filled to only 2400-2500 psi. Anyone know right away? Or maybe someone can tell me how it is I can figure it out for myself? Even I have a calculator.

Thanks.

Kevin

Well, assuming the capacity is actually 88cf at 3000psi:

3000psi/88cf = 34.09 psi/cf

so:

2400psi/Xcf = 34.09 psi/cf

2400/34.09 = X

70.4 = X

In other words, the tank would have 70.4cf of gas at 2400psi

so - how'd I do? :D

3000/2400=.8
88*.8=70.4

Don't assume that the tank will hold 88cf at 3000. Some tank volumes are calculated at their "+" pressure, so 88cf may be at 3300psi.

Thanks fellas! That is what I wanted to know. I can't seem to find much info on the Scubapro (Faber) 88 3000 psi tank, and just wanted to know what I was going to be diving. I'm just getting back into it after a long hiatus, and I have never dived in Chicago before so I wanted to have everything squared away.

Thanks again!

Kevin
