I am looking into the Aquatic Environmental Science graduate program at Florida State University. I am currently a Marine Science major with an environmental science minor. I have pretty much decided that I'd like to have the benefit of some research experience and skills but I don't necessarily want to be a full-time scientist. I'll probably want to get into secondary or higher education. Any thoughts?

Aquatic Environmental Science

Also, for those with experience in this field, after completing this program would it be likely that I could get accepted into any doctorate programs in environmental science/ecology/marine science? I know a lot of schools look heavily at your masters thesis and with this program, there would be none.

I'd recommend you look elsewhere.

I've had a number of friends go through the department, and I also went to the University but in a different college. Based on what I've seen, and what I've heard, I wouldn't recommend the program to anyone.

Thanks for your input!
