As I sit here and finish a tub of ice cream in post-easter bliss I wondered is anyone devout enough to give up diving for lent? Thought about it? What did you give up instead?

I thought about it, but I decided that diving is too good for me spiritually and physically to give it up for lent :)

So, I did something similar to you, I gave up food with sugar substitutes. Today I ate a bunch of sugarless chocolates! YUM. They seemed a better candidate to give up since, they're that deceptive kind of goodness that you regret later ;)

Aw,man.............

The nice men in the white coats are coming to take you away

I live in the Bible Belt and I don't know how many times I have been told I am going to hell...

Just for giving up diving for lent? That's awful! You have the right to give up what you want!? or nothing for that matter

Oh no...not just diving...there are many examples the Bible Belters give me as reasons I am going to hell...among them, that I don't believe in hell:)

what is this "Lent?"

I'm sooo sick of shrimp, sooo glad lent is over . . . On the other hand, I had a great dive trip to Cancun, so lent went faster this year.

what is this "Lent?"

Fat Tuesday is the final celebration of Carnival, or festival of meat (carne - meat) before Ash Wednesday. So, no lent, no Mardi Gras.

Stan - Greek Orthodox (we can't even eat fish during lent)
