squarepants once bubbled...
I'm having the toughest time settling on a place to stay in Oct.

If diving is a big part of your trip, I'd advise you to stay south of town. Both the hotels you asked about are north, and you'd likely have trouble getting the dive boat to pick you up up there.

Personally, I prefer the La Perla/Lorena/Caribe Blu hotel.

Stayed at Sol Cabanas in 2002 with my Bro for 7 days in March, personally if you want to dive, stay someplace farther south of town.Less travel time and it's less turista,we had a few problems with Sol Cabanas, faulty plumbing,no water for [5] hours, and for what you get,I think better deals can be had.Food was also a little pricey. The afternoon we arrived, they told us our room was'nt ready because of a large wedding party going on,so they gave us a very small room with a great view of the parking lot!!!!!!ISLAND BLISS!!!!That was not what I paid for.
Try VillaBlanca resort south of town, stayed there in FEB.2003 and am going back in FEB 2004.Good value, clean, and upgrades are only 10.00 bucks!!Have a BLAST!!!!!!
