thanks I'll put it on my list of "to do's" and work on my frog kick....

Hudson is worth doing even if you stick to 60 feet and above. They have stuck some interesting stuff in the walls and the dive shop is right across the street.

Re: Depending on how brave you feel, you could try the Hudson Grotto

I will dive within my experience and training. It should not be a quesion of bravery! I cannot comment on Hudson Grotto as for I have not dove there yet. But am not afraid. It just seem's to me to be unwise and foolish to dive something on a dare. And I will try to allway's dive within safe limit's of what I am familier with or get training and or proper guidance.

Lets not take a figure of speech and turn it into an ethics arguement. If I said I'd kill for a hamburger right now, would you call the cops.

I think it's pretty clear I meant "Depending on how brave you feel" in a figurative way. Lets not start an arguement where ther isn't one.

I don't think it was a dare as much as it was just a phrase.

does the tanic diminish the viz? Oh, and thanks again for the information. I'll let you know when I dive it and you are welcome to dive with me...

Your welcome on the advice, any time. And thanks for the invite.

It just seems a little dark. from the surface you can't see the platform at 20 feet, but once you decend a foot or two it comes into view. probably diminishes the vis a tad, but I couldn't give you an exact number. The vis averages about 20 feet above 60 feet. They do Open Water classes on the 20 foot platform so it's not that bad.

I dive it so much that I hardly notice the tanic, Plus I'm basic cave so dark holes in the ground filled with water only make me wanna get my dive gear on. However, My youngest son won't dive there, and I've seen people swim out to the descent line and turn around and swim back to shore muttering "no way".

Ya gotta lighten up a bit......it wasn't a dare just, as has already been stated, a" figure of speech".

If you are interested in trying Hudson Grotto let me know and I would be glad to go. It's different and a very good place to practise your skills.

Go once and even if you don't like it at least you can say you tried it.

One Dive Master I know says he thinks the bottom of that hole is so dark it sucks the light out of your bulb.

I'm getting nostalgic Dave :coffee: If i can find a 100w can light i'd consider a return to the depths of the HG.

Cheers.
