According to the Heather and Dave website, the YMS-14 in Boston Harbor was a planned second dive after the Pug wreck. Did you dive it and if so any good? I joined Boston Diver Services for an exploratory dive looking for that wreck late last year, but we found nothing. Thanks.

I dived a couple weeks ago and we did the Pug only. Spectre went out this past week, but I think they only did the Pug.

What's the story on the YMS-14? I haven't found any information.

The YMS-14 was a USN minesweeper sunk in a collision with a destroyer in early 1945. No one died and it wasn't reported to the media at the time due to wartime news black-outs(appeared in news item sometime later). Also, it seems it might have been dynamited or cable-dragged to lessen its bottom profile. Some say it is listed as an obstruction w/ 33fsw over it on the southeastern end of the North Boston Harbor shipping channel. In any event, there's probably not much left of it. That's all I've found out about it through searching the net.

To get back to the original subject, I live in Connecticut and I dive in a 6mm farmer john. My last dive was the weekend before Thanksgiving. The water was real cold but barable. It was out of the water that sucked. Almost did a New Years day dive as it would have been at a friends house with a heated boat house but the rest of our club was uninterested (spoiled warm water/good vis divers). As for now I'll just be knocking out my Divemaster skills and assisting with classes in the pool till March. ;)

Yeah the changing our of the suits right now would be brutal ! with weather in the 10's changing out of a drysuit would be kinda harsh too hahahah. Speaking about spoiled warm water divers I just got back from a trip to Grand Caymen and Cazomel. THose divers are spoiled in 80 someodd degree water donning hoods seemed silly to me haha.

This weekend I was diving in a 6-5-4 wetsuit. Of course it was in Little River and Ginnie Springs, FL!!! Gotta love the hot showers at Ginnie after the 72 degree springs!
