I ran across another indy plate manufacturer http://www.cibdiving.com with good prices and what looks like a pretty decent design. I'm curious if anybody knows any more about this guy or his plate?

thx,

I'm a little confused here...the link is to an STA that fits wither the OMS plate or the Dive Rite plate as stated in the wording above the pic.

Sorry, here's a better picture of the plate w/o the STA http://www.cibdiving.com/id2.html
The STA looks interesting though, the way it conforms to the plate would make a much lower profile and would seem to not push the tank and manifold as far away from you as some designs might.

I don't know...but the prices seem to be awfully competitive...a chunk of steel is pretty hard to screw up....it looks a lot like the Dive rite plate.

I purchased a Dive Rite SS plate 5 years ago and it looked nothing like the one in the link. That said, the plate looks similar to the S&W plate. The matched STA is a great idea.

That's the S&W metal products "Hammerhead" backplate...

Funny, S&W's STAs look exactly the same as FredTs...

Yeah, I sent an email to Bob over at http://www.cibdiving.com. He's a PADI instructor in Portland, OR., who gets his students started with BP/Wing from the very beginning, and he worked out a wholesale arrangement on that plate.

It's nice to see a PADI instructor teaching with a plate and wing arrangement and hooking up his students with good gear at great prices!
