Im building a rig for the chick & contemplating different route than my rig but questioning if its the better option or not..
I dive SD in a7mm wetsuit & have a Hog#32 wing, running a 6lb ss plate & a 6lb weighted sta & need 2 #3lb in tank band pockets to sink my steel hp100.

I was contemplating trying the xs scuba vpocket which holds 7lbs of shot in addition to a non weighted sta 4lbs, which would total out at 17lbs instead of mine @ 12lbs w/o trim weight

Seen some reviews that state the Xs Scuba vpocket full of 7lbs of shot is quite bulky on the inside chanel of the plate & not very comfortable?
Anyone have any experience with this pocket / suggestions?

So ultimately im trying to decide going 6lb weighted sta again or the 7lb vpocket...

It's for doubles, like a V-weight. It sits between the plate and the tanks, not between the plate and the diver's back. Go with the weighted STA.

I have not seen one that holds 7 pounds, as this one is advertised. I do own a 5# XS V-weight, and it is a very tight fit in my doubles. I have to put it in with the doubles lying flat, pound it into place, and then put on the wing and plate. Fortunately, I don't need it very often.

I know you aren't thinking doubles, so my real purpose for posting is this: after I bought the pouch, I had a very hard time finding lead shot to fill it. It is not legal for hunting in my state, and none of the sporting goods stores sold it. If I wanted to order it, the minimum order was 50#. I finally cannibalized an existing soft weight. Later on, I saw someone stuff some soft weights into the space between doubles, and I realized I could have done the same thing without buying the V-weight pouch.

From the research ive done & emailing Xs Scuba, one version only holds #5 & the larger one holds #7.

I would like to see the 7# weight would fit in my doubles, since I can barely get the 5# weight in.
