I'm going to be in the Mauna Lani area in Kona this December and was looking into their op. They say they run 6-packs, but I'd love to hear first hand experience about diving with them from a recent customer.

No first hand experience with them. Talked with the guys at their boat one day, the folks onboard seemed happy, not serious divers however.

Two other ops work the same territory along the South Kohala reefs, Blue Wilderness and Kohala Divers. I can relate personal experience here, both are good outfits.

Thanks acooper. I haven't heard of Blue Wilderness before, but the hotel at which I'm staying mentioned and recommended Kohala Divers. Mauna Lani Sea Adventures' staff seemed to be happy to answer my questions on the phone. They say they have a small 23' powercat as their main boat, and when bookings demand, they also take out a 21' aluminum rigid inflatable. Dives are done typically within 10 minutes of their dock, and they do their SIs back on shore.
