I am taking a multi day course at Ginnie Springs and don't feel like driving back and forth from Orlando. Do anyone have any recommations for hotels in the area. I found the High Springs Country Inn and Days Inn close by but nothing is popping out at me.

Head north on 75 a bit. There's a Hampton or something up there near the Lake City exit. There area few decent options in that direction. At exit 411 or whatever by the Freghtliner place, there is a super8 or something similar. I've never stayed there but others have. Also there are a couple of bed and breakfasts in town if you are into that sort of thing.

Also , anything in Alachua works too !!! :D
(Exit 399 on I-75 ... Alachua/High Springs exit)

In High Springs , Country Inn is nice.
Er , don't do the ALAMO :11::shakehead:

Or as Perone said , you can head up north I-75 a little bit and get some decent places too. :D

The Days Inn in Alachua isn't fancy or new, but it has one wonderful thing: a coin operated laundry. That came in VERY handy while we were there. The room was clean and the bed didn't sag, and the shower had lots of hot water. That's about all I absolutely HAVE to have in a motel room.

A friend of mine operates Stillwaters Lodge in High Springs. It is a Bed and Breakfast. Don't know the rates, but you can contact Camp Kulaqua, as it is owned by them.

Yes, stay away from the other motels in HS. The Country inn is frequented by divers, but I have never stayed there myself. Lake City is about twenty minutes from HS. The Northern exit for Gainesville is too. 39th ave. Lloyd Baileys scuba is at that exit as well if you need anything. Not sure which hotels are at that exit though.

PM if you need more info.

Forgot to add,

If you go to the Country Inn and need a coin laundry, go north 1/8 of a mile to the Winn Dixie Shopping center. There is a Laundry in the corner of the plaza.

Best,
Jason

Bill Rennaker of Cave Excursions used to rent out some double wides that were nicely kept and reasonably priced. Visit them at Cave Excursions Authorized Dive Rite Dealer Express Gas Fills While You Wait

That would be up in Luraville which is at least a 45 minute drive to Ginnie...
(I know , I drive it every weekend from my house which is near Ginnie to Peacock etc.)
just my 2 cents worth. :D
