Holy crap! Samsonov actually scored?!?!?;) I wish I could see more Habs games here. I don't have Center Ice and I'm pretty much at the mercy of CBC's love for the Leafs.
Yeah, I hear ya. CBC has the best hockey package, in terms of announcers, color, camera angles, commentary, and between period segments, but I am SO SICK OF THE LAFFS (no, not a typo), that I rarely turn them on anymore. Why can't they do regional action, and show the Habs in Quebec? I think Ron McLean is the best, and is the perfect foil for Don Cherry. I wish the NHL or an American company would put something together like CBC has and broadcast it. I used to love watching John Buccigross and NHL Tonite, but couldn't stand to watch ESPN's games. For one, John Davidson and Bill Clement both make me sick the way they suck up, and every game had to have at least one of the ESPN Eight ( Colorado, Detroit, NY Rangers, Pittsburg, NJ Devils, Philly, Dallas or St Louis) if not two for them to show the game. ( However, I did like Gary Thorne's calling of the games). I really do miss NHL Tonight and look forward to John Buccigross' column on ESPN's website. I'd love for CBC to steal him away and make him part of their family. I think he'd thrive there, doing something like Kelly Hrudey does.
While I can only see games on VS on Monday and Tuesdays now, I'm seeing teams I haven't seen in years. I also get to watch the Bruins get beat on a regular basis on NESN, and I also enjoy watching college hockey, so I do get my fill.

As for websites, I pretty much frequent TSN and Sportsnet as well. I don't think there's any better. Spector's Trade Rumor site is pretty good also.

Red Wings are going for tying a club record 14 consecutive home wins tonight, which makes me think we might drop it tonight. Seems like each time the Wings are on the verge of a tying or setting a club record in wins, they always lose. Still, Zetterberg, Datsyuk and Holmstrom are just on fire as of late. I just hope they increase this pace in the playoffs for once!

I think you jinxed your team by posting that....saw they got beat.
As for Samsonov, he's really not as bad as he's being made out to be. Every game I've watched him play, he's hustled, more than I can say for Kovelev his linemate. The guy didn't forget how to score on the plane from Edmonton. He played brilliantly for the Oilers, all the way to game 7 of the Finals last year. His play this year is due to a lack of linemates.
My Cats got beat last night too, losing to BU 3-1 (with an empty netter). The two teams play again in Boston tonight and it's also on a local station. Got a couple of buddies and a case of Blue coming over. I love this time of year!

Think there's gonna be some bad blood flowing in Ottawa tonight when Buffalo comes to visit? After their full-scale brawl the other night, things could get interesting pretty quickly. I wish it was going to be on something other than PPV... :(

Bad blood in Ottawa??? Nah....we'll just let Ray do his stuff and hope for a much better outcome than the game the other night. :) Am going to the game, and looking forward to some great action. Go Sens GO!!!! Kel, the rabid hockey fan.

I can't believe I am saying this, but for tonight at least I am glad we have CBC. The game is also on MSG. We usually have it good here to watch the games. Even if they are not on any of the cable channels we can just slide on over to the local pub and watch them on the big screen. I just hope that Boob Cole and Hairless Neal are announcing the Maple Laughs game. Now I have to go chill some barley pops and order a pizza for delivery.

Now that s what i call a Good Hockey Fight.OMG 100 minutes of Pen s and Buffalo got 65 minutes of those Pens

The Habs get a first round pick and a Defensive prospect for Craig Rivet, who they were going to lose in the offseason anyway. Sad to see Rivet go, as he's a "heart and soul" type player, but a good trade for both teams I'd say.
Atlanta has now made a couple of moves, giving up a lot of young talent for some vets. I'd say they think their time is now.

Eh, not really. Like I said, seems like when the Wings are on the verge of some record, they drop it. Wonder if they think about those records too much.

Well, I do think the Sammy-Kovalev-anybody else experiment went on a bit too long. Kovalev can be pretty frustrating to watch. Reminds me of watching Sergei Fedorov back in his Detroit days. So many Wings fans would just get frustrated because Sergei didn't score a goal every game. But the thing was, when you looked at his stats and particularly playoff stats, the results really were there. In the same vein, Kovalev is a good guy to have come playoff time.
