I head the same thing the other night.Wont be the first time we lost a Captain .
Personally, I hope it doesn't happen.....if it did, I honestly believe the "Hawks would be getting the better of the trade. Rivet is a "heart & Soul" player, and I hope he stays with the Habs, and you already know what I feel about Samsonov.

Only if you can find a place that has satellite TV showing the NHL. I hear that there is a good bar in Barbados that shows NHL (Bert's Bar). Ohterwise, you are more likely to get cricket and basketball than the NHL.

My HABS are starting to smell like 3 day old fish.....and they're really pissing me off!!! They played like contenders the entire first half of the season, but now the wheels are starting to fall off. Rumor is they are seriously considering Forsberg, to see if he can bring some leadership, offense and life to the team. Wonder who they'll give up for him though?

Vtdiver,

At least it took the Habs less than a season to realize what it took the Bruins eons to figure out...Samsonov is a fraud.

The Bruins are drawing their last breaths, but thanks to the generous trade from the Blackhawks, the B's won three out of their last four, and are eight points out the post season.

Santafejoe, why in the hell did the Blackhawks give the B's Brandon Bochenski for next to nothing. He seems like a good sniper, and has one of the fastest releases I've seen since Joe Sakic. He has three goals in three games for the B's. Why did the Blackhawks give up on him.

Speaking of giving players away, the Bruins did the expected, and traded Brad Stuart and Wayne Primeau for Calgary's Andrew Ference and Chuck Kobasew. I think that means the B's intend to sign Marco Sturm and keep him. So, the Joe Thornton trade has now resulted in Marco Sturm, Andrew Ference and Chuck Kobasew.:shakehead

Hey anything is possible with the Blackhawks. I am just woundering what the heck ther going to do at tradeing time anything is possible.

OK, I went to the Stars-Wings game last night and it totally SUCKED!

Mike Smith played his heart out for 50+ minutes and it looked very much like the bagel was never going to come off Detroit's side of the scoreboard. But in the span of the last eight minutes, the Stars went completely brain-dead. No discernable offense whatsoever, and when Henrik Zetterberg set up the equaliser with a BETWEEN HIS LEGS pass (something I missed in real time -- saw it last night on SportsCenter), all the air went out of the American Airlines Center. The Stars were way too dependent on Smith (as they frequently are with Marty Turco) and did nothing but dump-and-chase for most of the remainder of the game. They got NO ONE in front of Ossie around the crease and, basically, gave the game away.

I think it's time for Doug Armstrong to seriously consider sending Dave Tippett on his merry little way. He has no fire to motivate his players (trust me; I've sat in on a number of his postgame sessions -- he's as exciting as watching ice melt). This is the last team he will ever serve as a head coach (I'll be very surprised if any teams even think about giving him a second look). Ladislav Nagy was decent in practically his Stars debut, but nothing spectacular.

Another big problem the Stars have is that they have let the Red Wings get into their heads psychologically. They're back to the point they were 10 years ago when they dreaded seeing the Red Army across the ice from them. They had gotten over it for awhile, but it's back, and it looks like that's who they may be playing in the opening round of the playoffs. The Wings are not near the team they were five years ago (the Flyers proved that the other night), but the Stars have a tendency to make them look that way. :(

(end of rant)

I agree with you about Detroit not being the team they use to be. I usually see Detroit play the Hawks at least once or twice a year but not this year. The reason is that the 4 home games at the United Center against Detroit this year are all on either a Tuesday Night or a Thrusday Night instead of a Friday or a Saturday night. If they were on those two night it would be a sellout standing room only no matter what place the Hawks are in. Boy i miss yelling the famous words this year :mooner: DETROIT SUCKS.:mooner: :rofl3: :rofl3:Now if only the Hawks can squeak into the playoffs i will be happy.

Peter Forsberg goes from the Philadelphia Flyers to the Nashville Predators.

How did I not know about this thread?!?!:11:

Yeah, it will be very interesting to see how much Nashville gets out of Forsberg. I was a bit surprised that's where he ended up.
