Herman's right....Scott(Zeagle) always responds to questions regarding Zeagle products and has been instrumental in helping a few folks with equipment issues. Frankly, I don't see how you can beat the customer service and lifetime guarantee that comes with the Zeagle name. :D

Aw man...you guys are gonna make me blush...

Thanks to all of the folks who posted their experiences. The whole "the ripcord is impossible to re-thread" issue is a sore spot with me, simply because it isn't true...thanks for helping to set the record straight.

I don't know what else to say, but here is a cool dancing monkey!!!!

I love my Zeagle and threading it is no problem. My wife is probably going to buy a Zena.

If you have trouble threading yours, put it in a box with $10 and send it to me at....

:)

I am looking at a few BC’s right now and Zeagle Zena is one of them. I really like the look and the feel of the Zena, but I am unsure of the rip cords. I was told by the local dive shop that if you pull the cords then you have to bring the BC in to have the cords put back in. Is this a good design feature, it sounds more complicated than most other BC’s. I’m just wondering why they chose to make their BC’s this way. What are the pro’s and con’s of this rip cord system? Thanks in advance for the input.

I have a Zeagle BC and it is not difficult at all to re-thread. I would look at buying elsewhere, though. They are not giving you truthful information at your LDS regarding returning it to them to re-thread.

Edit: Okay, so I didn't read the whole thread to see how many folks had already stepped forward to help out, including Mr. Zeagle. He must have some sort of freakish sixth sense that lets him know when his products are being discussed on SB. He's always quick to help out a customer in trouble. Try getting that from some of the other companies out there.

My Ranger Limited is great. The restringing is not a problem. I dumped my shot in the pool one day, just to see how it felt, and then got out and re-strung it in about 15 minutes. When I had an inflator issue after only two dives, they promptly got me a new one. The service is excellent!

As soon as I unpacked my new Brigade from ScubaToys, my non-diving spouse said "what's this red handle for?" - zzzzziiiiiiiiiiippppp! Took me all of about 2 minutes to figure it out and re-thread it - couldn't have been easier.

I did the same thing, but to my own Brigade. After I did it, I looked at it, smacked myself on the forehead and said "Son of a $#@%!" Then I realized how easy it was to rethread it. Since then, I have upgraded it with the lumbar pad and saddle strap, I believe that this is the best BC on the market for me.

My wife dives a Zena and she says it is the most comfortable BC on the planet. She tried on every women's BC out there in loads of shops including LeisurePro's Store and it was the only one for her. Only complaint (mine) is the bladder is a bit small BUT she had to assist me with an ascent when I had a HP blow out and it was no problem for her to bring me to the surface.

I used to dive a Ranger and thought it was very good - although a tad bulky. So now I dive BPW.
