DandyDon:
Hehe, good for a Skipper to care for his craft, I'll try to not spill coffee or drop tanks, weights.

As a single diver, I'll be challened to find the boat with enough other divers going to make the trip work - but still have room for me.

He supplies the tanks & weights...?

Not allowed according to his site. White soles only, and I can understand that.

Yep...that sounds reasonable!

DandyDon:
You think it can be done in an hour? Might work; might have to rent a second car?

You posted as I did LVX; this looks a lot more conveninet, if I can catch them on a dive day, thanks...!

Back when I was young and stupid we made it in far less than an hour... Both of those routes are wrong, one's too long (goes through Houston) and the other routes you over a highway that was washed out into the Gulf 20+ years ago. If you decide to use a charter in Sabine PM me and I'll send you the fastest route between the two.

I have never heard of Fish N Divers,,,interesting web site.

OK if you are looking for a day boat with a great price go to Sport Divers of Houston, they are at Nasa Rd. 1 and I-45 there are two dive shops there so give them a call and they will give you better direction (they are the clossest shop to Galveston)
they have the "Easy Diver" its a 31 foot twin engine Chris Craft. they offer two tank dive trips around the rigs and wrecks of the upper Texas coast for $175 i believe but give them a call at 281-338-1611 and check their website http://sportdivers.com/
i've been on the first trip for that boat with them and it was fun but the sea wasn't, we had 4'-5' seas that day.. it was bad...

here is the link to the boat info.

if you have any question about them let me know they are very good friends of mine.

Good Luck Don...

Ultra Dive

I've never used this guy, but for day trips that is who my LDS refers you to. I asked not long ago and they said everyone they have referred to Ultra Dive has said they would go back.

I know its a second hand referral, but you might want to check them out.

Also - Wolf Charters

This is one I ran across a link of on WW Diving's web site at one time. Might be worth a contact as well.

Good luck - and let us know how it pans out.

I can give a thumbs up to these folks,,,great bunch...did a rig day with them,,,,very nice and professional.

Thanks for all the referals! :thumb: I just might find an open seat on a boat with enough divers to go, but room for one more - and get a whole day off from the family. Maybe...

Thanks again!
