Any Belize suggestions for non-touristy/commercialized, more natural & remote areas?

If you want an al-a-carte location you might check out Placencia. The boats rides are bit long but there are other inland activities around the town that can be arranged.
 
Nice review, i will have to make the trip to what Thatch Caye is all about. Maybe even a bonus weekend for some of the staff.
 
Your friend at Protech Divers sends his love but says he can't make it when you are coming, Steve. Maybe when things get slow you can jump in a big boat with all the staff and cruise on down. Lots of TMM boats from San Pedro come down here on motor in about a day. Ragamuffin from Caye Caulker usually sails down, but sometimes they have to motor a bit as well. Stay inside the reef all the way and the ride won't be bad.
