Will there be icecream? :D

No. Kool Aid.

It's the best of both worlds! :D

Seriously though - for people who aren't familiar with the concepts or people involved - this is a great event to go to if you're curious about this style of diving. No Kool-Aid consumption is required, you get to learn a bit about team diving and the equipment used, and the BAUE/GUE affiliated folks are generally more than happy to answer any questions you might have.

One of the biggest things I've noticed with respect to instructors from the technical diving agencies is that they are generally VERY capable of explaining the reasoning behind just about anything they do. It's then up to you to decide whether or not you agree with it. If you're curious about this stuff, sign up for the event. Ask them hard questions, and consider the answers you're given.

I agree. The instructors and community are quite knowledgeable, friendly and helpful! This event offers the opportunity to come see for yourself :)!

Here is a short promo video that explains a little more about GUE. GUE offers excellent tech diving training, but plenty of us are recreational divers.
