Another Texas Newbie

Hi all and greetings from Magnolia, Texas where the closest diving destination is the Blue Lagoon. Yipes!
Well, I'm spoiled! My first and only ocean dives were in Cozumel. Did that last fall and am going again at the end of May.
Meanwhile, bought a Zeagle Ranger with integrated octo, Dacor Eagle Sport reg and am looking at a Dacor Enduro console. When I get the console I'll need a place to dial it all in before heading to the beautiful Isle.
I have no dive buddies (everybody say ahhhhhh) and I'm wanting to get wet as soon as it can be done in a 3mil.
Where can I go?

Hi Sinker,

I am in Clear Lake. Have regs will travel. I am interested in checking out Blue Lagoon (don't laugh.) How hard is it to buddy up there "on the fly"? I have the fever.

Magnolia is NW of Houston about 30mi.

Where's Athens and what kind of diving is it?
