Another one..

From Captain Rob's website today. (http://www.captainrobs.com/)

"To all diving friends and family,
It is with great sadness that I must inform you that Captain Rob’s Dive Charters is no longer. Over the past five years we have struggled financially to make this thing work. Recently the note on the boat came due and we were unable to make things work despite many attempts, some realistic and some very unconventional, nonetheless we failed. We hoped, up until the last minute that we could make this work. I am truly sorry that this has happened and I apologize for any inconveniences that this may have caused you. Maybe in the near future we’ll find another boat, but until then this is good-bye.
Thank you for five great years of diving and fun at the Isles of Shoals I’ll never forget it!

I’ll see you out there,
Captain Rob

And the crew; Liz, Julia, Neil and all the rest who silently (or not so) kept this ship afloat.

When one door closes another opens…"

Rob had a great operation and was one of the best operator to Isle of Shoals. Great boat. He did great Seal dives on shoals.

Wow, two at once....seems like they're dropping like flies. Just goes to show you that making a living off a dive charter service in this area is not an easy task. Never had the chance to use either one of them, but best wishes to both Capt Rob and the Seeker Capt/crew.

What are the odd's? I pre-paid for charters on both boats.
Sorry to hear this, as a small business owner myself it can be hard to operate being under capitalized.

That's too bad, I had suggested a charter to a network of buddies just last night.

Pete

Fran Marceaux (Cape Ann Charters) is still running charters to Isle of Shoals. He too is a really good operator. His boat is DayBreaker. I think he has a trip to shoals on 12th of June.

His coordinates phone 508-873-8339 franm52@aol.com He can send his dive schedule for '06 and keep you on his distribution list of open charters. His boat is big and lots of room. I don't think he goes out with more than 6. Caters to tech and recreational.

This is a real bummer. My wife and I had booked a seal dive trip for 7/2. We went late last year and had such a great time we just had to go again. We liked Captain Rob and his boat very much. We're definitely going to miss him.
