"Foley promised an approach "as evenhanded as we can be." He defended the decision to show only one side.

"I'm not sure we wanted to be telling the story of the Japanese whalers," he said. "We wanted to go down there and tell the story of what motivates these people who are trying to stop the whaling."

Well now, ...guess onesided is "as evenhanded as he can be"! :D

While I admire their goal, those people are bonkers.

I too think their goals are admirable but the way they run that ship is like watching an engineering major teaching a group of drama students how to do brain surgery.

"It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye..."

I don't disagree with their goals.

But I disagree with their philosophy that, because they disapprove of a (legal) activity, they themselves are entitled to conduct illegal activities.

There are many ways to protest the activity without putting people's lives at risk. When the day comes that someone dies, it will be interesting to see how the resulting lawsuits apportion blame and the inevitable fallout that will accompany the lawsuits. Taken to an extreme, when an organization believes that any activity on their part, including loss of life, is justifiable to achieve their goals, that edges over a line. That becomes something a lot like terrorism.

IMHO. YMMV.
