There was some fog but quickly burned off by 0900. During and after the dive sun was out. Around noon it started to get overcast. Phil, why don't you guys take a break from boat diving and come shore dive over at OML with Rev. AL and the dive-Vets. The garden off the point has a nice memorial section.
We've been talking about that. After we got the boat we bought better cameras/housings that weigh more than my weight belt. I did a beach dive at Vet's and struggled to exit. I'm sure we'd smash the housings if we tried to enter at Marineland again. I miss beach diving there sometimes but it's nice not getting beat up just to get in the water.

That won't happen. I've dives Mexico twice, Hawaii three times and the Philippines and was less than impressed. It's much easier, but way more expensive and in many cases I found fewer species in warm water.

I can relate. The tropics are easy but I get bored pretty fast. It is nice to virtually never get skunked by weather and wearing a 3mm wetsuit but there's no comparison to the US Pacific coast when conditions are good. My fav is Carmel Bay and points south to Pt Conception. The northern Channel Islands are my version of "easy diving".
