I've got one (two actually) if you want to replace it when yours arrives?

I'm interested.. I sent you a Personal Message. Let me know.

I put my new seals on order today. They wanted $95 for shipping to next day them. :rofl3: Don't think so.

But they should be here next week.

If I could get the seals before Wed I won't have to cancel my weekend diving. I'm very interested.

MAC I'll bring the torn seal to you when it's convenient for you. Just let me know. I can come by tonight or tomorrow.

How many extras did you get for the save-a-dive kit?

I'm north side Ryan - can you pick it up at the lake store or pick it up from me during business hours downtown? You can get the south store to transfer a seal to the lake store for me when yours arrive. My spares are brand new uncut packed in talcum powder...

Share the process Mack? How do you get the old glue/seal off the zip ring? I don't ever want to have to buy spares - DUI sucks for marking these things up this high. Bunch of dive heroin dealers...

Ryan's zip seal will be my guinnea pig so to speak. I think it is a similar process to replacing a regular dry suit seal. You need to have the right forms, glue, etc. I have a drysuit seal replacement kit from when I bought the shop.

It does work, Melissa's drysuit is currently rigged with some "Pete's Un-Zip Seals" and they work just fine, and with better quality seals than DUI seals.

Bill: Unfortunately I've already barked up that tree with DUI. They won't sell the suit-side portion of the zipseal system. Otherwise it wouldn't be difficult. :(

So Chris, did you just peel the old seal off the zip ring without damaging it? and glue the new seal on with rubber cement? Or did you find something to denature the glue without melting the zip ring?

Oh, Ryan - I've got your new loaner seal in the car. Dropping it by the lake store on the way home this evening...

Trey

Thanks all for your help.

Macks work looks good but my diving plans for today fell through. Have to wait til next weekend to try them out.

Note for people with zip seals its much easier to install them with soapy water.

Trey I have your seals. I haven't opened them yet though. If you need them back before the new ones come in let me know.
