So went out to Windy Point today. Had a plan to teach an underwater Nav course. Things were going well. Park was empty, water was flat. Harry and I went through our knowledge reviews and talked about our dive plan. Had a great plan.

Then as I was putting my dry suit on the seal ripped. No one in Austin had a spare.

The Water Looked Clearish. Wish I could have dived.

Two words. "Zip seals". I know, I know but they have their place in the diving world. You just have to know where it is.

I usually carry my wetsuit as a backup when dry suit diving. Just a thought. Could have probably handled 30-40 minutes at depth. Of course, I do like colder water.

:rofl3:

ZipSeals are pricey.

They are also not quite as abundant as I expected. No one keeps them in stock. So to make matters worse I may not get the new Zip Seal until after next week, next week being Thanks giving and all.

Another way to save a dive is Duck Tape.

Yes Duck Tape around your wrist seal can in some instances keep water out, when performed to truly seal the dry suit sleeve to your arm.

:coffee:

I've got one (two actually) if you want to replace it when yours arrives?
