Dove Alexander springs today. Great place for wildlife. I have seen various things at this site over the years, but today we were rewarded with a few awesome birds, a group of otters, and some giant softshell turtles. I didn't manage to get a pic of the otters, but the birds turns out well :D

Great pictures Vayu, especially great catch on the heron(? or anhinga?) shooting about UW!

pretty place
seen gators and otters there more than once

Thanks Matt. I think its an anhinga. One of those shots where you just had to be there. I was lucky to have the oppurtunity to capture the moment.

Yeah, thats what I'd guess, but the photo linked above it was for the GBH, so I didn't want to assume. Although I've never seen a GBH submerge itself completely. Thats more Anhinga and Cormorant territory(cormorants have a hook on the end of their beaks though).

I'm a nerd.

I have seen a single otter there before, but never a group. I guess that I shoulda went there instead of Bucket O' Suck Sink. Not far away at all.

Here are some pictures from last Tuesday's Dive At Alexander Springs
