You CAN consider trying to open the case but it's definitely not recommended to do it yourself since the complete inner area is filled up with a special non-conductive oil to make it 100% water resistant and even if you manage to open that newer version of the Aladin Pro it's a complete mess and it's awfully hard to close it again and fill it up again with the proper oil if you haven't got the right dedicated toolset...barchana:What about the newer (but still old) Aladin pro - with the 4 contacts at the front (one up three down). there is no obvious place where you can open it.
In addition, with this newer Aladin Pro after replacing the battery you've got to manage to get the settings (e.g. time/date, etc.) right and without the proper software and interface, which Scubapro/Uwatec even refuses to make available to major dive shops, it's impossible.
