The suitcase is NOT a carry on, but the reg bag detaches from the front (look at the picture, the top and botton outside bags fold over and have a separate carry strap). I take my and my son's regs and extra stuff like my dive computer

Not sure if you're refering to the back pack asked by Amy, but I got the one pictured in her link, it's 4yrs old, but the same thing with diferent graphics.

My experience is that it's the best bag money can buy, the back pack is the size of a briefcase and the external pocket IS NOT REMOVABLE, it has one main conpartment and the outside pocket is very usefull, the backpack straps can be tucked away in its zippered pocket so no dangling straps when using it as a handbag or with the shoulder strap.
Materials are top quality and will last for ever, you can pack 3 or 4 complete regulator sets and the main pocket has 2 sewn console protectors.

I use this bag also as a weekend bag for clothes, and it has traveled through countless airports as a carry-on bag with regulators and on other ocasions with clothes for the weekend.

This is my favorite allaround bag (I'm a bag freak, I got more than 25 bags in diferent sizes, some new never used), this bag is the first choice whenever I need a bag for something, if it's too small, then I grab one of the others, it's the perfect size for allmost anything.

In my bag collection, I got 5 Akona Bags, the materials are very high quality and for the price, there's nothing better out there in soft bag market. If you want to discuss hard cases, that's another story.

My advise, get it, you won't be disapointed and it's worth every penny.

One last thing, the backpack straps are located in the oposite side of the outside non removable pocket, I can see from the pic, that the shoulder strap has been improoved, not that mine is bad, but the new one is way better in the ergos dept.
