I agree fully with MaresMan1 ;)
For me they are both a new, safe and very good BC'S.
I could be the Airtrim instead FCS system without a problem...i have choice the Cressi BC'S becuase i like your design and other small things...:P
Yes, i know, i said with i have choice Cressi because use a mechanical system instead a pneumatic system...but i think also which a Mares and Cressi have a good Engineers both :)

So, if you can, try both...

Bye bye to all friends diver!!!!

I know there are a lot of folks who bash the HUB and airtrim. I have three HUB's and have used them all over the world with success. The airtrim is a great advance (for me at least) and becomes effortless with familiarity, especially in light of the fact that you can trim from any body angle.

This is my first post here, and I fear I will be bashed by the HUB haters (most of which that have never dove with or owned a HUB), but it is a great piece of kit - which explains why over four years I have bought and keep three for use in rotation.

You don't need gadgets for trim.

Welcome to the board and I hope you don't get bashed. I still don't like those crazy things though.

Wow! What's with the sudden rush of replies? Anyway, I do agree that both of the products are just as good. That's the point I'm asking you guys... so that i can decide which to get. What I can say is that, these products are so good (that is in the non-corrugated inflator hose category) that i can't decide which one to get since i only have budget to get only one out of the two.

Not only that I'm looking for style, or extra accessories, or features, I'm quite concerned about the safety factor of the equipment. Thank you for all of your support!!

Calvin.

Calvin-many feel that your two choices are flawed. What advantage over a conventional BC do these offer? I've seen exactly one experienced diver so far in one of these rigs (Seaquest Fusion). Diver in question also owns a dive shop and coinscidentally the Fusion is the newest most expensive BC in the shop. I also haven't seen this guy go below 20 feet or stay in more than 15 minutes either. These integrated inflators are a solution to a non-existant problem. Instead of relying on tricked-up gadgetry practice your skills. If you do decide to buy one anyway, be prepared to take a heavy loss at resale if it doesn't work out. Good used scuba gear sells cheap and unwanted used gear sells for next to nothing.

The major advantage of the Airtrim is that you can trim in any position. Don't have to get upright or lift the hose to release air efficiently. Great if you are working with a camera.

No trickery or gadgetry. Just a simple stationary trim device that adds or releases air from the BC. Two buttons just like the standard BC corrugated hose, just placed in a fixed position. However, I agree that no matter what you own, practice your skills.

Nonsense. You can, or should be able to, do that with any BC device suitable for diving. If you can't, you shouldn't be in the water.

I never have to get vertical to release air efficiently... I just pull the little string at the bottom of my wing every so often on ascent and release just the amount of expanding gas necessary to maintain neutral buoyancy.

Keep the gear simple folks and spend your extra money on training unless you can find someone to teach you the finer aspects of diving for free.

Uncle Pug and Mech, while I repect your opinions, that is my point exactly. You have to reach for this little string and that little hose depending on where the air is in the BC. I don't. Always on the left hip and always works in any position.

When I have a camera in my hands makes life a lot easier when trying to get that nice shot. Just a different and more efficient way of doing the same job for me(IMHO). Nothing fancy or tricky about it(JMO).

If I have said it once, I have said one thousand times. Get your training and practice skills.

It works very well for me when traveling or for basic recreational diving ;)

I really cannot understand this "boardwide" resistance to technological advancements , i.e. airtrim. It seems that you guys should throw away your computers, eliminate nitrox and the new RGBM decompression models because they all "complicate diving".

It seems that if you personally do not like a piece of technology it becomes a waste of time and money for anyone to own - and he who owns it is a fool.

I believe I have had enough ofthis board.
