I like the Big Blue 450 lumens lights for daytime shadow areas. No hotspot in both the wide and narrow fixed models. Both run on 3x AAA.
 
they added an extra 0 to their lumen output, though if it burns for 5 hours on c cells it's only averaging about 500 lumen give or take
Yep, but it is bright.
 
I use a U.K. C8 and find it to be an awesome light. However I'm only using it for catching bugs. If you're looking to do more penetration dives or cave dives it's probably not the light for you.
 
A buddy was unsatisfied with the UK C8 and he got the DGX 600 with soft Goodman. He likes it a LOT better, plus he no longer has to throw away hoards of C cells.
 
I have a couple of Tovatec Fusion 530's and I'm very happy with them. They make a smaller and larger version as well.
They are compact, have adjustable beam angles, 3 intensity settings, strobe, a rechargeable battery, can use 3 AAA batteries.
