What is the difference between the Elite and Elite T3? Is the diplay of the Epic better than the Elite line? I like idea of having wrist mount. What analog gauges would you recommend for backup? Newbie here. Any info is appreciated.

The Elite has been discontinued in 2006 and the T3 is the hot new computer for 2007, and like all computers it has sereral improvements such as gas switching for up to 3 gases on a single dive. An easy to read display makes it a great computer to put on your wrist or a retractor. The Epic will be out soon and will have a reduced (smaller area) display making it a little hard to read in a hurry or if your over 40.

I always dive with a complete redundent system for my dive computer and air information (usually a simple computer and a SPG).

We dove the T3 last month as part of a Beta Test for Aeris and loved everything it did. Epic is scheuled out after the T3 hits the market, so if you want one soon, the T3 may be the way to go.

Let me know if you have anymore questions or if I can help you.

Here is my list of new features added to the elite T3:

Buddy Pressure Check allows monitoring of up to two “buddy” transmitters

Switch between up to 3 independent transmitters for multiple cylinder use

3 Nitrox mix compatibility to 100%

Bolder digits

Dedicated Free Dive Mode allows switching between SCUBA and Free Diving during the same dive period and features dive time in min:sec, 1-second sampling rate, an automatic 30-second elapsed dive time alarm, countdown timer and 3 independent maximum depth alarms

Personal Conservative Factor Adjustment

Alpha-Numeric Message Box Display clearly identifies data and alarm conditions

Adjustable Safety Stop Time and Depth

Includes ACI Software and USB V2 Cable for both data download and settings upload (complete unit with transmitter only)

512 Download Memory Capacity (double the ATMOS elite)

How many transmitters can the 2006 Elite support? I know the T3 supports 3 but what about the plain old Elite?

This is a good old post from 2006.......it needs a refresh for today. I have been looking at Aeris computers. Any opinions today as the epic has been out for a little while now. How does it shake out between the three today ? I really like the wrist watch option with the epic how practial is it in real dive situations are the buttons easy to toggle with gloves on. I dive in cold midwest lakes most of the time plan to go to warmer places in the future.
thanks

There is a comparison PDF on the Aeris website (but the forum is telling me that I can't post it here because I'm too new to the board and haven't yet made 5 posts). My buddy uses the T3. I'm trying to decide which one is best for me.
